Definition of Glycolic Acid

  1. An acid belonging to the alpha hydroxy group of acids (AHA), mainly found in citric fruits, sour milk, and sugar cane; used to slough or exfoliate dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, to fade the skin, to treat acne, and to smooth facial wrinkles.
