Definition of Acrylates

  1. Generally found in UV gel nail products, or other artificial nail products. Acrylates are a family of polymers (ethyl acrylate, ethyl methacrylate, and methyl methacrylate), which are a type of vinyl polymer. Acrylates are made from Acrylate monomers which are esters that contain vinyl groups, that is, two carbon atoms double-bonded to each other, directly attached to the carbonyl carbon.
